As promised, here is more information about the visits we have arranged for the summer. Please contact Pauline for more info or to book.
The first is to Shugborough Hall, a National Trust property, https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/shropshire-staffordshire/shugborough-estate on Thursday 17th July. The coach will leave Warslow Village Hall at 10:30 am and we expect to be back by 4:30pm at the latest. The cost will be £15 for the coach fare. Entrance is free for NT members. There is an entrance fee for anyone who is not a member of the National Trust. The Shugborough estate is interesting with a manor house, working farm, walled gardens and walks. There are two places to eat or bring your own food and have a picnic. You are welcome to bring friends and relatives. If you can book with us as soon as you can that would be helpful, or let us know at the next History Live meetings. We would like payment in advance please. Cheques payable to History Live.
The second trip will be to Cromford Mills World Heritage Site: Cromford Mills, Mill Lane, Cromford, Derbyshire DE4 3RQ https://www.cromfordmills.org.uk/about/ on Wednesday 6th August. We will go in our own cars so please share wherever possible. If you do not know anyone to go with please let us know and Pauline will arrange. There is parking at the venue. The cost is £12.50 to include admission, guided tour and the Arkwright Experience which takes, in total, about an hour and a half. The guided tour starts at 11:30 so please make sure you are there in time. Afterwards we can have refreshments or look around for ourselves. There is limited space in the cafes but if the weather is fine we can sit out. Again, if you can book with us as soon as possible or at the History Live meetings, it would be helpful. We would like payment in advance. Friends and family are welcome to come. Cheques payable to History Live.
