Dawn studied languages & worked for over thirty years for a Global Union Federation.  She now works part-time for the National trust as a Living History Interpreter at Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire. 

Sixteenth century life is now her passion.

In her talk, she will be covering the following: the medical theory of the time, including astrology; preventative healthcare; where herbal remedies might be obtained from; physic gardens & still rooms; contemporaneous sources including herbals, books of household management & almanacs; the doctrine of signatures and finally some herbs & remedies using the, including some contemporary recipes, focusing  on herbs traditionally used in medicine.
