Presented by Joe Perry

Curator at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery

Wednesday November 6th at 7.30 (doors open 7pm) Warslow Village Hall, SK17 0JL

The Potteries of North Staffordshire are famed the world over for their ceramic output – but how did this part of the world become such a powerhouse of pottery? From post-medieval butter pots to modern mass-production, our whistle-stop virtual tour will take in the sweeping changes to pottery, people and landscapes that have occurred during this time.

Joe Perry is a part-time Curator at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery helping to oversee archaeological and social history collections. He spends the rest of his working week as a consultant for System Simulation Ltd, a developer of museum-focused software and websites. He has previously worked for Buxton Museum & Art Gallery and in many other roles for Stoke-on-Trent Museums. When not at work there’s a good chance you’ll find him searching for stone circles, plucking various stringed instruments or playing with tiny plastic soldiers.

Doors will open at 7pm to give you time to have a drink, a cake and a chat! No need to book – just turn up. Entrance is just £4 including refreshments.

* Raffle tickets in aid of the Air Ambulance will be on sale at our November and December meetings so raid your money boxes.  We would also be grateful for any donations of prizes – large or small.  The draw will take place in December and last year we raised nearly £300 so let’s see if we can beat that! *
